Global Notes

A Global Note is a bond that can be offered within the euromarket and additional other markets simultaneously. Typically a company issuing global notes seeks to clear and settle such notes in a common depository such as with Euroclear or Clearstream.

Unlike eurobonds, global bonds or global notes can be issued in the same currency as the country of issuance. For example, a global note could be both issued in the United States and denominated in U.S. dollars, or in the United Kingdom with Sterling Pounds etc.

Global notes are common with Clearstream and Euroclear and both are used for settlement and clearing. Such securites are issued an XS ISIN code, or an international securities code.
